- What is Locum Doc?
- Locum Doc provides a web-based contacting service. With the cooperation of NISDA, Sessional GPs on the Northern Ireland locum list will be available to you to contact by text message, to their mobile phone, with the completion of one single on-line form.
- Will my message go to all locums, every time costing me money?
- Because the locums will have filled in an on-line profile indicating when and where they are available to work, you only will be sending text messages to those who are available to work for you. This will minimise your costs, and maximise your convenience in contacting locums.
- What if the locum date is filled and I don't want more calls?
- You have the option of sending a second text message to say that the position is filled.
- What does it cost?
- Contact us for an up to date quote. We are confident that when you take into account the cost of phoning a mobile phone from a land line, leaving messages, recalling non-responders and the hourly rate of the staff member tasked with booking the locum, you won't be out of pocket.
- What do I pay the locum?
- That will be between you and the locum to finalise. However in order to get sufficient numbers of locums to sign up and make this innovation possible, it was essential to give them some guarantees. To that end we would expect each participating practice to adhere to the following:
- To pay at least a minimum rate, or more if agreed between the practice and the locum. For the latest rates, please contact us or read the Terms & Conditions on signing up for the service;
- Payment will be made promptly, directly to the Sessional GP within 28 days of the work undertaken.
- If I sign up, does that mean I won't be able to contact my regular locums directly?
- No. Using our service does not tie you to only contacting locums through us. You will still be free to contact locums directly and make your own arrangements. Locum Doc aims to help you on the occasions when your regular locums are unable to work for you, and you would usually have the unenviable task of trawling through the CSA locum list and speaking to message services.
- What Next?
- If you are interested in registering for the service, or you would like to see a demonstration, then get in touch via the contact page.
